It can also be solubilized by some solvents, especially chlorinated solvents.PCTFE has excellent gas barrier ability, and the water vapor permeability of its membrane products is the lowest among all transparent plastic membranes. Its electrical properties are similar to those of other perfluoropolymers, but the dielectric constant and loss factor are slightly higher, especially at high frequencies.PCTFE can be made into thick (1/8 inch) optically transparent parts.

PCTFE can be melt processed, but due to the high viscosity of the melt, there is a tendency to degrade resulting in the performance of the processed product deterioration, so processing difficulties.

PCTFE resin can be made into pellets for molding and extrusion. Film thickness of 0.001-0.010 inches, can also be made into rods and tubes.

What is ECTFE?

ECTFE in English: Ethylene-chlorotrifluororthylene copolymer, Chinese name: ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer, referred to as F30.

In 1946, DuPont synthesized the copolymer of ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene for the first time; in 1974, the Applied Chemical Organization commercialized ECTFE for the first time under the trade name of HALAR@; in the early 1980s, because of the increase in the demand for ECTFE, the Applied Chemical Organization designed another facility for the production of ECTFE; in 1986, the Applied Chemical Organization put the ECTFE products and technology were sold to the United States of America Ausimont Corporation, since then the Applied Chemical Organization has never been re-produced ECTFE. at present, the world only the United States of America's Ausimont company in the production of commercialized 1:1 cross-linked ECTFE copolymer.

I. ECTFE Characteristics and Uses

ECTFE fluorocarbon powder coatings are resistant to acids, most strong bases, strong oxidizing agents and other chemicals. It has excellent stability to some inorganic solutions (including water and salt solutions). There is no existing solvent that can dissolve ECTFE or cause it to stress crack at temperatures not higher than 120°C. ECTFE's resistance to chemicals is comparable to that of perfluoropolymers and superior to that of polyvinylidene fluoride.

Ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer (ECTFE) is a second-generation fluorine copolymer. It is a thermoplastic fluorine copolymer with alternating polymer chain structure.ECTFE has extraordinary corrosion resistance to most inorganic and organic chemicals as well as organic solvents. Until now, no solvent has been able to attack ECTFE below 120°C or cause cracks. ECTFE's resistance to chlorine and chlorine derivatives at elevated temperatures is particularly outstanding compared to other thermoplastics.ECTFE's extremely low permeability, excellent electrical properties, and extremely smooth surface make it safe for use in temperatures ranging from low temperatures up to 149° C. ECTFE not only has outstanding impact resistance, but it is also a tough material with considerable mechanical properties, and the finished material has a surface similar to that of The surface of the finished material is similar to that of glass, which prevents the proliferation of microorganisms and is permitted to be used in the food and drinking water sectors. Moreover, ECTFE resin is a very pure fluorine copolymer, which does not require additives such as UV and heat-resistant stabilizers, plasticizers, lubricants or flame retardants.
