GPO3 Sheet

HONY®GPO-3 is a fiberglass reinforced Thermoset Polyester electrical grade sheet. This composite has an excellent combination of high strength, flame resistance and low smoke generation. This makes it ideal as a flame arc/track resistant electrical insulation.GPO3 is an insulating board made of glass fiber felt and unsaturated polyester resin. It has the characteristics of good electrical performance, high voltage resistance, flame retardancy, leakage resistance and arc resistance.GPO-3 insulation board, also known as UPGM-20.

GPO-3 is a hard plate-shaped insulating material made of alkali-free glass fiber felt immersed in unsaturated polyester resin paste and added with corresponding additives. The base material is alkali-free glass fiber felt, and the glue is unsaturated resin. There are two types of products on the market: molded and laminated.

HONY®GPO-3 insulation board application :
Application in circuit breakers: Frame type circuit breakers: safety baffles, safety shutters, spacers, interphase partitions, etc.
Applications in molded case circuit breakers: interphase partitions, arc partitions in arc extinguishing chambers, etc.
Application in electric motors: motor armature parts, movable cover plate, slot wedge stator, fixed gasket, thin gasket, carbon brush holder, etc.

How to distinguish real GPO-3

1. The real GPO-3 insulating board has passed the American safety laboratory certification (UL certification), so it has an independent UL identification file number. When purchasing this product, the manufacturer should be required to provide the UL identification file number to identify the authenticity .

2. The leakage resistance index of real GPO-3 board can reach 600V.

3. The real GPO-3 board has a density between 1.81--1.83 according to international standards and does not contain fillers, which determines the reliability and stability of the board.


A simple method for distinguishing finished and inferior products of GPO-3 insulation boards can be lit with matches.

1. Those with smoke and dust are inferior products. The adhesion of GPO-3 insulation board products is very good, and the material itself is environmentally friendly and does not generate smoke and dust.
2. Toxic gas is produced. Inferior products generally use flame retardants to achieve flame retardant effects, so there is a pungent poisonous gas when burned. As the flame retardant volatilizes, the performance of the product will also decrease, so it cannot be used in an environment where people are in contact with it or in an environment with heat.
3. Combustion stratification, due to the irregular structure of the glass fiber mat, the mechanical tension of GPO-3 comes from the inside, and internal stratification will not occur during high-temperature carbonization. If there is stratification in combustion, it is a counterfeit product.
