Semitron®ESd Overview Features and Benefits

The development of SemitronR antistatic products has brought great convenience to both designers and user customers, as it can be used for performance enhancement of component manufacturing equipment. In addition, SemitronR antistatic products are ideal materials for special working environments where high wear resistance, chemical resistance and electrostatic management are required.

Semitron, as a class of materials with good application results in the precision machining industry, needs to be advanced in the machining process in real time so that more users can perceive the benefits of using these materials. The flexibility of the material itself can be utilized to provide reliable auxiliary activities for mechanical production, which makes it possible to stabilize the application of this type of material in industrial production environments and daily construction environments.

1. Anti-static

These semiconductor materials need to be synthesized and used in a specific mechanical manufacturing environment, so it is necessary to pay attention to whether the material itself has insulating properties to reduce the impact of other materials on its function. The anti-static property of the material is carefully perceived by the user during the time of operation and is assisted in the construction activities, so that semi-finished equipment can be retained in the mechanical activities and updated for the application of engineering plastics.

2. Low temperature limitation

Semitron is a popular material for Semiconductor Products, and users can optimize the processing of the original parts by developing and selling these materials. The original use of a narrower range of equipment due to the addition of such materials and have components of the active index, so that the products produced are also less subject to temperature limitations and have a high degree of abrasion and high chemical resistance to show.

3. Helps reduce costs

These semi-finished materials can be used in a wide range of ways to assist in component operation and testing activities, and by purchasing these materials and applying them to the transmission process, the user can reduce the amount of material consumed. The number of components used to assist in operation and testing can also be reduced over time based on the stability of the equipment, thus providing the benefit of reducing project costs and stabilizing the long-term operation of the project.

The benefits of using a Semitron can be understood by the user in terms of the range of applications, the technological content of the product and the duration of the application cycle, which can be utilized for component modification. This expands the range of applications for composite materials and allows the industry to recognize the performance level of the product, allowing for the overlaying of semiconductor materials to enhance the technology of the production line.

Semitron R ESD material

The Semitron® ESd series of electrostatic dissipative products are designed by MCAM-Quadrant for use where discharge is a concern during operation. They are commonly used on sensitive electronic components including: integrated circuits, hard drives, and circuit boards. Semitron products are also excellent choices for materials handling applications and as components in high-speed electronic printing and reproduction equipment.

Unlike many other [dissipative" plastic shapes, Semitron® ESd products are inherently dissipative and electrically stable. They do not rely on atmospheric phenomena for activation, nor do they use surface treatments for dissipation. Static electricity dissipates through these products just as easily as it dissipates along the surface. All of these products dissipate 5 KV in less than 2 seconds per Mil-B-81705C.

Semitron® ESd 225 Static Dissipative Acetal

Semitron® ESd 225 is ideal for use in fixtures used in hard drive manufacturing or for handling silicon wafers. It is tan.

Surface resistivity: 10*10 - 10*12 ohms/sq.

Thermal performance up to 225°F (107°C)

Good wear resistance

Semitron® ESd 410C Electrostatic Dissipative PEI

The Semitron® ESd 410c is ideal for handling integrated circuits through test processor environments. It is black and opaque.

Surface resistivity: 10*4 - 10*6 ohms/sq.

Thermal performance up to 410°F (210°C)

Low stress for tight tolerance machining

High strength and stiffness

Semitron® ESd 420 Electrostatic Dissipative PEI

Semitron® ESd 420 is the only truly dissipative plastic product for high temperature applications.

Surface resistivity: 10*6 - 10*9 ohms/sq.

Thermal properties

Semitron® ESd 480 Static Dissipative PEEK

Semitron® ESd 480 is a static-dissipative carbon fiber-reinforced Polyetheretherketone suitable for use where the properties of PEEK are required but protection against electrostatic discharge is required. The material is available in sheets and rods and is black in color. Semitron ESd 480 has a surface resistivity of 13 10*6 and 1 X 10*9Ù/sq, but has a heat deflection temperature of 480°F. Its chemical resistance makes it suitable for wafer handling and other structural applications where static dissipation is important in wet process tools.

Semitron® ESd 500HR Static Dissipative PTFE

Semitron® ESd 500HR is reinforced with proprietary synthetic mica, providing the perfect combination of low friction performance and dimensional stability. Semitron® ESd 500HR should be considered wherever teflon* PTFE is used. It is ideally suited for applications where control of electrostatic charge emissions is required. It is white.

Surface resistivity: 10*10 - 10*12 ohms/sq.

Thermal performance up to 500°F (260°C)

heat insulation

Extremely low coefficient of friction

Broad chemical resistance

Semitron® ESd 520HR Static Dissipative Machining of Blanks

Semitron® ESd 520HR features an industry-first combination of electrostatic dissipative (ESd), high strength and heat resistance. The new ESd material is ideal for making nests, sockets and contacts used in test equipment and other equipment handling components. The key feature of the 520HR is its unique ability to resist dielectric breakdown at high voltages (>100V). The figure below illustrates the electrical properties of plastic materials commonly used in automated test processors. Typical carbon fiber reinforced products irreversibly become more conductive when exposed to even moderate voltages.

Only Semitron® ESd 520HR maintains its performance over the entire voltage range while providing the mechanical properties needed to excel in demanding applications.

Surface resistivity: 10*10 - 10*12 ohms/sq.

Semitron MDS100
