What Is The Difference Between "UHMWPE Sheet" and "Nylon Sheet"?

Ultra-high molecular weight Polyethylene performance advantages:


1. Abrasion resistance ranks first among plastics, 4 times higher than nylon 66 and PTFE, 6 times higher than carbon steel;


2. Impact strength of the top of the list of plastics, for PC 2 times, ABS 5 times, and can be in liquid nitrogen temperature (-196 ℃) to maintain high toughness;


3. Self-lubricating and PTFE equivalent.


4. Impact energy absorption value in all plastics for high value, sound deadening effect is very good;


5. High chemical stability, resistance to various corrosive media and organic media in a certain temperature and concentration range.


6. Excellent anti-adhesion ability, second only to PTFE;


7. Completely hygienic and non-toxic, can be used in contact with food and drugs;


8. Density in all engineering plastics in the small, 56% lighter than PTFE.


9. Good low-temperature resistance, -256 degrees Celsius, the performance does not change, the melting point is 136 degrees Celsius, the heat distortion temperature is about 85 degrees Celsius.

Advantages of nylon 66:


1. Excellent mechanical properties. Nylon has high mechanical strength and good toughness.


2. Good self-wetting and friction resistance. Nylon has good self-wetting, small coefficient of friction, thus, as a transmission component with a long service life.


3. Good elasticity, good fatigue resistance, can withstand tens of thousands of times the double flexure


4. Good corrosion resistance, not moldy, not afraid of moth, alkali resistance, but not resistant to acids and oxidizing agents

Comparison between nylon and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene:


1. Temperature environment UHMWPE melting point 136 °, heat distortion temperature 85 °; nylon 66 melting point at 230 °; heat distortion temperature of 100 °;


2. Specific gravity: UHMWPE specific gravity 0.97; easy to process; nylon specific gravity 1.12, hardness high specific gravity high processing cost is also high;


3. Nylon hygroscopicity, dimensional stability is not enough;

Ultra-high molecular weight Polyethylene Sheet is more diversified in color than nylon; the color types of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene sheet are: white PE sheet, black PE sheet, blue PE sheet, green PE sheet and so on.
